Aikido Online wishes to observe the passing of Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan.
Tamura Sensei was a giant of Aikido and was a teacher who can never be replaced. He was one of our teachers, and inspired us for decades with his unique techniques and noble and philosophical spirit.
He was a close student of O-Sensei and chief of the uchi deshi when our teachers were his fellows. As Kanai Sensei once said, Tamura sensei truly possessed a “scale of the dragon”.
We wish to extend condolences and sympathy to his family and students Tamura Sensei’s magnetic personality, technical mastery and total commitment to the growth of Aikido will be well remembered by all. May his life and Aikido live on through his students.
